If you can have one day of 4th grade to do over . . .

. .  . which day would it be?

We started the school year by making newspaper tables! We've conducted numerous science activities, and we taught the community some amazing science in Science Night, 2018. We have taken part in fun and thought provoking literature discussions. The Heroes of California visited our classroom as well as the author of our first book, Marci Seither. We played a gold rush game, and we are building websites to share our knowledge with the world. We won Science Olympiad, and many of you contributed mightily to Del Paso Manor's second consecutive win. And then, there are the trips! We have been underground, twice! California Caverns started our field trips, and what a way to start! We spent a day hiking in the footsteps of the gold miners who launched the biggest migration of people, ever. We hiked all over Old Sacramento and heard some strange stories our our city's past. We got to spend time with internees from the Japanese Internment camps. We went to the Exploratorium in San Francisco and to ExploratoRio just a few minutes a way. Of course, we got to spend a week living in a redwood forest and venturing into the tide pools. We've spent time with Pearley Monroe, Jack and Praiseworthy, Annemarie and Ellen and Yuki. We got to see many of Gary Paulsen's mistakes as he trained for the Iditarod, and we have gotten to follow Milo along on his adventures in the Lands Beyond. Of course, we cannot forget the lovely Mrs. Barnsworth or Emi's grandmother, Mrs. Kurihara . . . Along the way, we made good friends into better friends, we laughed, and we enjoyed our time together.

There is so much more but the question is this: if you could redo just one day of fourth grade, which day would it be? Tell the reader the day you'd redo and explain to us all why that is the day you would do over again, if you could. The more reasons you can give, the better we will understand why you chose that day.

Use good spelling and conventions, be clear and comment on each other's posts. This is the final blog of the year-let's make it the best!

  1. Westminster Woods
The one day I would like to redo for Mr. La Marrs fourth grade class, it would be the first day at Westminster Woods. The reason why I liked the first day at camp is that I got to see what my room looked like, and who I was bunking with. It was a very fun day. Another reason I liked the first day at camp though, is because I got to do my first recreation at Westminster Woods, which was really amazing!!! I got to go on the cargo net, play on the playground a little, and play gaga ball, which was my favorite thing to do at recreation time. The next amazing thing for me was taking showers!!! The reason why I liked this unusual topic, is because I got the warmest shower the first day and all week long too, and I did not tell anybody it was the warmest shower until the very last night I told Devin to go in the one I went it. It was funny too because one of my friends was jealous that I had the warmest one, but that was a different day. The best part of that day though was the campfire. The campfire was super fun because I sang the most funniest song, and did the weirdest dance ever! It was really fun though. I also sang different songs, and this guy told the funniest story ever, which made literally everybody laugh. It was the best night and day ever, which is why the first day at Westminster Woods is the day I want to redo in Mr. La Marrs fourth day class.

  2. I just loved the first day at camp of Westminster woods. Well First of all instead of waiting in line to go into the classroom we got to play on the playground. Next there was a long car ride and then finally I got a glimpse of Westminster Woods. Next of course they had the best playground I have ever been on. I mean even the teacher had fun. Next we ate lunch ; my favorite part was the share bin were you can get your friends chocolate bars.next we had orientation and broke into our cabins. My cabin group was Parker, Anand, Dylan F., Elijah R., Mr. Reedy, Mr. Hristov, and Me: Jackson. Next I went to gaga ball and played there a bit. Then I went to the cargo net which is a giant net suspended over a creek. Then I had cabin time which is half an hour were you prepare for dinner and play games in cabins. Next we went to dinner of turkey, gravy, and other thanksgiving things. I ate turkey, turkey, turkey, and turkey. Did I mention turkey? Then we went to a campfire and sing some songs. I personally liked the scat song. In fact I will sing it for you right now; It starts with an S and ends with a T, it comes out of you and it comes out of me. I know what you’re thinking and don’t call it that, be scientific and call it scat. Then we went to the bathrooms brushed our teeth and took showers and went to bed. I ended the night in a hot and stuffy cabin because we left the heater on all night on high.

  3. If I could redo one day of the whole school year it would be Science Night 2018. I would choose this day on behalf of how it was so amusing. Science Night is a night where people of all ages are invited to do hands on science experiments at Room 15. The science experiment my team chose to lead was called Milky Rainbow. Milky Rainbow is an experiment that shows the effect of surfactants and surface tension using milk fats, food dye, and dish soap. At the event, the younger kids experienced wonderment and awe watching Milky Rainbow’s effect. A supplementary reason why I savored Science Night was how our group worked together. I think the collaboration between my group and I was exceptional. We each contributed supplies to the project and we explained the science behind our experiment thoroughly. Furthermore, I enjoyed the independent opportunity to explore a new science concept. Lastly I had a great time with two of my friends directing other people how to enjoy our station. On the whole, I look forward to Science Night 2019 as a 5th grade participant.

  4. The one day I would choose out of all this year, it will be the first day of the school year. That day was the day I experienced 4th grade; what it felt like to be in room 15. It was the greatest time of the year. That day we made tables out of newspaper. I had my greatest times in room 15. I had so much fun over this year that it went by like a snap of a finger. This was the day I chose to re do. I wish I could restart the whole year. I will always remember this day and especially this year. This is going to be my best year of school.

  5. Back in Time...

If I could go back in time for one day it would be on science night. I would go back in time for science night because science night was my opportunity to teach science to kids and adults. It was also a time for me to hang out with my friends and have fun. I also liked science night because when I did science night I learned plenty of science. I learned about the Ph scale, the Ph scale is used to tell if matter is an acid or a base. Another reason on why I would like to go back in time for science night is because science is one of my favorite subjects in school and I love to experiment with it. Science night had experimenting because I could see what liquids turned pink and what liquids turned green. This is an experiment to me because when experimenting I do things that I have never done. I would also go back in time for science night because on science night I had a chance to prove myself. I had a chance to prove myself because I could show my brother and family that I know science and that I am better than them. I also liked science night because I could feel the responsibility of being a scientist. This is the reason on why I would go back in time for science night and readue that day.

  6. The final blog of the year.
In Mr. Lamarr’s class, we started off with making newspaper tables, and we’ve gone up all the way to Science Olympiad and Science Night. In the middle, we've gone on awesome field trips, done amazing activities, and went to Westminster Woods. I think the very first day would be my choice because that was the date that I met an awesome teacher, and it was the day that I started the best school year I’ve ever had. It was the day that we were introduced to a new classroom of superior learning and activity. It was so much fun that it went by like a crack of a whip. I will remember this year for the rest of my days. Thank you, Mr. Lamarr, for sticking by my side for the most awesome year ever.

  7. A day to do over...
I wish I could redo the whole year of 2018, but if I could only choose one day, I would choose the first day of Friday Football. I loved it because I learned how to play flag football, and it turns out, I wasn’t as bad as I thought I would be. I had high expectations for football, and flag football exceeded my expectations that day. There were two teams: orange and blue. I’m confident that I was on the orange team that day. Both teams made epic plays. Exceptional teamwork and cooperation were shown on that day. I will remember the first day of Friday Football for a long time.

  8. There have been many good memories in fourth grade with Mr. La Marr and my classmates. My favorite of them occurred on March 17, 2018. It was Science Olympiad, 2018.

For Science Olympiad, I was assigned two events, which were Metric Mastery and Mystery Architecture. We are tested in our knowledge of metrics in Metric Mastery, and we had to build a tall, sturdy structure out of random materials under a set amount of time in Mystery Architecture. We all started making preparations in late December. For Metric Mastery, Marion and I did measurement problems on temperature, mass, length, time, and volume. When Morgan and I prepared for Mystery Architecture, we each built our own structure out of tape and straws, paper, and other materials. Then, we did one together. We found out which materials were good for height and sturdiness.

In all, 18 members contributed to our second first place win in a row. On the day of the competition, we showed up to Mira Loma High School and registered. Then, I competed in Metric Mastery with Marion at 10:10. I was nervous beforehand, but I was very comfortable doing it. We had 70 seconds at each station, calculating or estimating. My favorite problems to do were the estimation problems. Luckily, we had a reliable cheat sheet. One of the cheat sheet estimation tips actually answered a question without having to do any calculations or converting! Straight afterwards, I went to do Mystery Architecture with Morgan at 11:10. I wasn’t as confident doing this event, but overall, I thought we would do well. We had to build a structure as high as possible and to support a tennis ball at the top for ten seconds, all in just 20 minutes. Plus, we got random materials and only about 6 inches of tape. I was nervous when we put the tennis ball on. Would the tower come crashing down? Our tower was 71 centimeters tall. Next, my teammates and I had fun until we got awards. I played King of the Concrete Blocks with Alex, Kaser, Katherine, Morgan, and Eric. I also bottle flipped with Alex and Eric. My two favorite parts of the day is when they announced “First place for Metric Mastery: Del Paso Manor Elementary. Congratulations Metric Mastery.” and also when they said “And the first place team, with 86 points, for the Division A Science Olympiad is… Del Paso Manor Elementary!” I was overjoyed at both moments. I took home three medals if the team medal is counted, two of which were first places and the other one was a fourth place.

At Science Olympiad, I was able to represent my school, bond with my teammates, learn about science, and have fun, making it my favorite part of the year.

  9. If I had one day of fourth grade to do all over again, It would be the day we went to the tide pools in Westminster Woods. I choose this day because we got to go to put tide pool animals in cups for a while. Then I had to jump from one rock to another, parkour style. Then when we went back to Westminster Woods, we had cabin time which I really liked. We had recreation time, which was AN HOUR LONG! There was so many activities available at that time. Basketball, Gaga Ball, a playground, a cargo net, volleyball court, and most important, my friends. Then we went to eat dinner (The dinner was cheese-stuffed ravioli or tacos). It was night time, we were sleeping and then, fun day ends…

  10. I know. It says anonymous. I am Elijah R., and if I only had 1 day of grade 4 to do again, it would be…
…Westminster Woods. I most enjoyed being at that place out of all year. It had fun recreation time and amazing cabins and delicious food.
It had an awesome play area. This place had a huge playground with poles, slides, tires, ropes, balance beams and more. It also had a cargo net, gaga pit, and treasure hunt, my favorites!
The food was amazing! Man it sure was, especially the breakfasts. It had pancakes, bacon, coffee cake, scrambled eggs and many other delicious, sugary, foods! The trail lunches, where we put sandwiches together and and ate them, taught us to make food on our own and I thought that was really cool. At the last lunch they gave us chocolate milk!
I had a fun time with my cabin group. My group was: me, Kris, Jackson, Anand, Parker, Dylan F., my dad, and Mr. Hristov.
Unfortunately, I am limited to 1 day for this awesome, amazing week to be my favorite...so I would pick day 1!
Our car group drove in the parking lot...after a few hours of driving. WE WERE FINALLY HERE! We settled into our cabins and explored westminster woods, and we met our teacher naturalist, Redwing, and got used to everything. Then, later, at night (by the way Redwing’s group is Team Night)…
We had a campfire! We did a really crazy dance and here were the lyrics: clehpethyehleh, nectehneh, enn dehehleh ennehmehlth! (“crepuscular, nocturnal, and diurnal animals!” said with the tongue out) There were also songs about banana slugs, coho salmon, and scat. Also, a fun “scary” story was told! A poem with a hilarious background ended the night well. For example, the poem said, “a creature quietly putting his young to sleep,” and then someone in the background said, “GO TO BED, YOU IDIOTS!” and when the poem said, “a naturalist expertly leading his group through the forest,” someone in the background said, “AAAAGGGGHHHH! WHERE ARE WE!?” This ended the night, and as i sat in a 100 degree room with: One, the heater on, two, me laying under Kris and some weird slime (discovered on night 2), three, me in pajamas, four, me in a hot sleepingbag, and five, all of the above happening ALL NIGHT (thanks a lot Mr. Hristov); I wanted more of these amazing adventures at westiminisitieir woods to happen. And they did!

  14. The day I would redo this past school year would be Science Night. That morning I remember feeling so excited about Science Night that night, and that’s all I thought about all day. Finally after waiting all day, about an hour before school was over, all the chairs and cubbies were moved out. This was when we began setting up. Our team got everything ready and then left once school got out. That night we got back to school and people started to come in and do the experiments. People came back multiple times to do our experiment. It was overall a huge success and I had a great time explaining how my teams activity, Milky Rainbow, worked. To do Milky Rainbow each person got a cotton swab, milk, food coloring, and dish soap. The dish soap had two things that made this experiment work; phosphate and a surfactant. When the dish soap on the cotton swab touched the milk and food coloring it created swirly and tie dye patterns, mainly because of the surfactant and phosphate. The night was so much fun and it looked like all the other teams were having fun too. Science Night will always be a night to remember.

  15. “Let’s take a peek of what Benjamin is blogging about; with a little time travel! *wink* ” -Interviewer (AKA nicknamed “The Time Travel Tourist”)

I loved almost every single day of 4th grade! But if I only could redo one day to do over out of all days, I would redo the day of the Science Olympiad competition, 2018, my first year in the Rapid Learner Program! When I woke up, I was pumped up for Science Olympiad! My mom drove me to Mira Loma High School, where Science Olympiad was held. When Science Olympiad started, the bottle rocket event was first, which I was in. We were the only team ready for bottle rockets, so my team went first. My partner, Benjamin Hartman, shot the bottle rocket really high and floated in the sky for a long time before it touched the ground. After that, I launched my bottle rocket. The bottle rocket shot up into the air but didn’t last as long as my partner’s bottle rocket. I didn’t have another event during the day, so I ate snacks like chips and watched other teams shoot their bottle rockets. I also went to watch my other teammates do their events like egg drop. A few hours later, I had my second event, which was the Dynamic Planet competition. My partner was Naya for this event. When we went in to the test room, there was a proctor who gave us instructions for the test. The test was mostly pictures of landforms and diagrams with parts we had to identify. There were also some questions we had to answer. We did not know some of the answers and we both thought we did really bad on the test. I felt sad that I didn’t do well on the test. I have been working hard on studying for the test. Then all of the teams had to watch the Science Bowl finals in the gym. After the finals came the awards ceremony for Science Olympiad. Unfortunately, we only made 5th place on bottle rockets, so I did not get a medal for this event. I was awestruck when they announced that we got second place in Dynamic Planet! I was astonished that we did so well on the test even though we thought we did so poorly. Now I have my very first medal to take home! When my team won first place overall (Del Paso Manor, of course!), I couldn’t believe what just happened! We worked very hard on this team and I’m glad everything turned out well! I hope that I can get on the team again next year so we could try to win again! This was the most exciting day in my whole entire life! This why I would redo this great day in 4th grade: The Science Olympiad Competition! :D

  16. The day I would like to start all over is the day of the Science Olympiad competition. I would like to restart the competition because it was fun and now I know more things about how to identify trees since my study was leaf and tree. I had fun preparing for egg drop by preparing. While preparing we made models which was extremely fun. I also liked leaf and tree because now I can identify a few trees on the list of trees I had to study. Another reason why I want to start it all over again is because of the medals. It felt great to sit there and watch our team get medals and it felt even better to get a medal. I also liked watching the water rockets fly into the air like a real rocket and come crashing down. Noon was one of the best parts and I could play king of the concrete blocks when my other event didn’t start yet. Overall, that was the best day of 4th grade.

  17. WHY I WOULD REPEAT THIS DAY
Westminster Woods was a camp where I could enjoy the amazing properties of nature, like the astonishing redwoods and the wondrous tide pools I stepped on.
So, in memory of my first day at Westminster Woods I would like to repeat that day, and if I did, this is how the day would go. Once I was there me and my cabin mates had learned to bond by playing “THE POO GAME”. The rules are simple, one person is it and the others defend the plushie (a poo plushie in this case) and the person it must steal the plushie; if they succeed, the person it wins! The cargo net was also used to entertain the people; so we went on the net too. Cargo nets are practically giant nets strong enough to hold over 20 people jumping at one time.
The food there was excellent and well worthy of some credit. Though the main reason I went there was the fact that the trees there were so tall that most people couldn’t see the top! Really, Westminster Woods was indescribable in one paragraph, but most that go there like it and I was also one that enjoyed going here.

I would also do this day over because I got my first try on the amazing cargo net! I have never done anything better in my life. I also enjoyed meeting my naturalist Petunia he was funny. One thing that came before the best time in my life was dinner. At dinner time I got 2 delicous plates of Westministers food. Then came the best time in my life. THE CAMPFIRE! The camp fire was totally awesome. We did some funny songs, storys and a skit which was really funny. I would love to do the first day at Westminister woods over again.

  20. One day that I could do over again was the day of Science Olympiad. I would repeat Science Olympiad for many reasons. Preparing for the big day was fun because I got to hang out with my partners, who I was friends with, and practice fun activities with them. Also, during that time other teams would be practicing in the same room. That led us to watch them when we were done with the part we were studying.

The start of the big day was fun because when we got used to our surroundings, we could find our way around, play, and not get lost. We also got to eat lots of delicious, but unhealthy foods for breakfast, snacks during the day, and for lunch. The testing was fun because we got to test how good our skills were against other teams. My calculator contest event with Nicole was a long test with hard problems, we had to finish in 50 minutes. On this test Nicole and I felt like we missed a lot of problems, and it turned out that we got a little over 50% correct. However, we beat the other teams by just finishing a few minutes before them with the same score. Right after the calculator contest test, my partner, Benjamin, and I had to do the Dynamic Planet test. This was several pages long with many questions on each page. After the test, we had to wait in suspense until the results came out. After I finished all of my events, I got to play with my friends until it was time to hear who won. We played King of the Concrete Blocks, tag, and other fun games.

When the award ceremony came, our whole team thought we would lose. We all thought we did really bad on our events, and all of the other teams got a ton of medals for a bunch of events. We were getting a lot of first place medals, but not that many medals altogether. A fun thing we did after somebody from our team got a medal was that we would chant,”DPM! DPM!” When they were announcing who was going to win the whole competition, they started with fifth place, then went to fourth. We were pretty sure that we were not going to get first, so when we did not get third place or second, we basically gave up hope of placing. When we got first place, we all started screaming because we never thought we would ever get first with all of the people saying they did very poorly. The excitement of getting first place after feeling that we did very bad is unexplainable and unforgettable. In summary, the day of Science Olympiad was amazing and fun.

    1. That was fun to read as you gave a great accounting of a very good day for room 15 and Del Paso Manor! I liked the part about the awards ceremony. I was so surprised we won again, but then, I shouldn't have been when we had such great scientists on our team. Great blog, Naya!

  21. One of my all-time favorite memories with Mr. La Marr is, well, when I met him. He was just so fun to be around and was a very good teacher. Thinking back, he always makes us laugh and is always challenging us to do our best.

But in all, my favorite memory with Mr. La Marr was the third day at Westminster Woods:

My friends and I were all on the cargo net, bouncing around and having fun, but then Mr. La Marr came on . . . He would go in the corner of the net and bounce us around. Some of us tried to stay on our feet when he bounced us; pretty hard.

While on the net, me and another classmate were pretending we had horns and were bumping into Mr. La Marr. His reaction: Well, he laughed, said “What are you doing?” and playfully shoved us down the net.

This went on for about thirty minutes.

I would redo this day because it was really fun being on the cargo net with Mr. LaMarr.

You see, whenever Mr. La Marr goes somewhere with you, you know right away that you’re going to laugh your head off.

You could say that you would want to redo all of the days this school year. There are a lot of moments to remember with Mr. La Marr, but even this blog can’t fill up how many good memories with Mr. La Marr there were.

You have written some entertaining pieces this year, and this is one, not just because of the nice things you wrote, but because of your talent for writing. Thank you so much for what you said. The cargo net is always fun, and bouncing it is the best!

  22. If I had one day to do over in fourth grade, it would be the day we won the Science Olympiad 2018. At the beginning of the day, there was lots of enthusiasm within the team. After the individual events, many people were not as confident as they were before. We didn’t realize that if the events were hard for us, they were also hard for the other teams. Many of us even thought that we might not get into the top four teams. Then, when it was time to get the medals that we earned, one of the last things I heard was, “And first place goes to Del Paso Manor Elementary!’’ At first I thought I heard wrong. Then I realized we came in first place. Everyone was hollering, screaming, and jumping up and down for joy. I thought that we might not win, but surprisingly, in the end, we won. I would like to redo this day because of the big surprise, telling all of us that we worked harder and learnt more than the other teams. All our preparation was worth it and the joy of winning a hard contest for two consecutive years makes this day very special to me.

  23. A day I would love to do all over again out of my entire school year would be the 2nd day at Westminster Woods. I would love to do that day from start to finish again because of all the amazing things I did on that day. At the beginning of the day my class went with my teacher, Mr. La Marr, on a morning hike. We were all looking at the wonderful animals that live under the rocks. I found a snake and a mountain scorpion. One of my classmates found two salamanders under the same rock. The salamanders were really small and looked like snakes because their legs were so small. After that I went and had breakfast with my friends. Then my class went to Salt Point to go tide pooling for submarine animals like chitons, sculpins, sea anemones, sea stars, and more. There were anemones the size of a basketball. Some crabs were feasting on dead abalone. Near the shore there was a harbor seal hiding in the sea foam. After that I went to eat dinner. That day was my FAVORITE day of the school year because it was filled with action and fun. I will remember that day until the end of my life.

  24. Well written blog, Daniel! I think the day you picked is my favorite day of camp, too. We had a great start of the day with our hike, and then going to the ocean in the rain was so fun! I loved watching you find those animals under the rocks on the morning hike, and then you continued that the next day at Armstrong Redwoods. Good times with good friends!

  25. If there was one day I could do allover again in fourth grade, it would be to go to California Caverns. I would do this day all over again because it was fun and cool. It was cool how we got to go underground and inside a cavern. It was cool because we got to see stalagmites, stalactites and other cool stuff that were about ten thousand years old. It was cool how we got to see inside a cavern. This was enjoyable for me because it was the first time I got to go underground. We also sifted for gemstones. This was enjoyable because we got to find real gemstones such as amethyst, quartz, and a lot more. This was especially enjoyable for me because the gemstones were not fake; they were real, so if you found emerald, you can keep it and you can keep all the other gemstones you found too. There was also a gift shop with geodes, and other science-like stuff. Out of all the field trips and days in fourth grade, I would choose the day that we went to California Caverns to do allover again.

  26. If I could redo a day in 4th grade I would redo the day we went to California Caverns. I would redo this day because I liked going very far underground. Also, this was the first field trip we went on. The moment we finished the field trip, I knew that the rest would be just as great. That was the farthest underground that I have ever been. I also liked seeing all the cool cave formations like cave bacon, stalagmites, stalactites, and many more. They were cool because I had never seen anything like it. We also went mining, and I liked that too. I found pyrite, and since it was so long ago, I can't remember what else. There was also a gift shop where I bought an arrowhead, a California Caverns patch, and a little vial of gold flakes with the letter D on it. My mom made snack bags for the ride home, which had Skittles, GoGurts, raisins, pretzels, and Babybel cheese. My jaw was hurting afterwards from all the skittles. Overall, if I could redo any day of 4’th grade it would totally be the day of California Caverns.

  27. If there was one day of fourth grade I could do over, it would be my first day at Westminster Woods.
I chose this day because there were so many great things about it. I was so excited to go to camp for the first time. There were so many new things that I got to experience. I was happy to be able to get to experience this with my friends and classmates. It was so beautiful at camp. I was surrounded by giant redwoods and the air was so fresh and crisp. I really enjoyed getting to explore the grounds of Westminster Woods and try all these new things out. I enjoyed getting to play on their giant play structure. The play structure had so many great things to do on it compared to the play structure at my school. The cargo net was really awesome too. I also learned how to play a new game. It is called gaga ball. I had never played that before and really enjoyed it. Some of my other favorite parts about that first day at camp were setting up our beds in our cabin, eating dinner, meeting people from other schools, and the campfire. Sitting around the campfire was great. We sang songs and listened to the naturalist tell funny stories.
Overall, this was a really great day for me that I will remember for years to come!

  28. Fourth grade at Del Paso Manor Rapid Learner has been, and most likely will be my favorite school year ever. Although every day has been like a special occasion, the first day was definitely the day I would do over. Even though it was a very tough decision, I chose the first day because that is where it all began. That was when I really got to know Mr. LaMarr. I knew about him when I was seven, but actually meeting him on the first day was definitely a privilege. We built tables out of newspapers, we learned about geometry, and I think I speak for everyone when I say we had fun. I got to meet two more classmates, Kate and Benjamin, and renew the friendships from the previous year. I also liked it because that was when we were informed about what was going to happen during the year. Such as field trips and the culture of room 15. I also got a feel of what the school year was going to be like. Probably my favorite part of that day was talking to and learning about Mr. LaMarr. This school year has been very fun, and none of it was possible without the first day. That day will stay in my mind for a very very long time.

  29. If I could redo the whole year I would, but a specific day of the year I would redo is the day at Westminster Woods when we went tide pooling. I really liked the crabs that were hiding under the rocks. It was also cool to see a crab eating an abalone. We saw sea anemones, crabs abalone, mussels, sea urchins, acorn barnacles, and limpets. We also got see seals, and sea lions, also in the morning I really liked the hike up to Cross-Overlooks; we saw salamanders, banana slugs, scorpions, a snake, and a really nice view of the redwood forest and the fog over it. I saw so many things at the tide pools and at Cross-Overlooks and had such a good time; that is the day that I wish I could redo.

First, we started making newspaper tables and ended with Science Night and Redwoods. But in the middle we went to Westminster Woods and the Exploratorium. 4th Grade in all was very fun and amazing, but I were to pick one day that meant the most to m it would be the very first day of school. I would choose this day because It was the day I’ve been waiting for, for a few years. The whole reason I came to Del Paso Manor was to study under Mr. LaMarr’s superior intellect. I also got to meet many other people, such as Kate and Benjamin. Fourth Grade is a year to remember.

  31. If I were to go back to any day or night of school, it would be Science Night. On Science Night, we arrived and then my team, the oobleck team, quickly restirred the oobleck. The cornstarch had settled, so we had to stir for approximately 15 minutes. After our station was open, only a few people came. We thought no one else was there, but in reality, the people were all inside. In 5 minutes, people started filtering out, and soon, our station was overflowing! We had to explain, and explain. I, personally like describing a lot. So many people came to our station in the middle of Science Night, but by the end, everyone was at the paper helicopter station hoping to win free candy. At the end, I wished there was a few more hours. I really liked Science Night because operating and the station was enjoyable. My favorite part was explaining what happened. If someone were to punch the oobleck, then it acted like a solid. If you let your hand stay in the oobleck, it acted like a liquid. I thought clarifying why that happens is fun. Also, I liked how everything in Science Night was very hands on. In my station, most adults didn’t want to get in the oobleck, but kids really liked to get dirty. Most of the people in our station were younger. Science Night required a lot of preparation, team effort, and cooperation, but the final result was great. Science Night was a exciting, hands on activity that I would be delighted to do over and over and over and over.

  32. A day to do over in fourth grade
A day from fourth grade I want to do over is the time that we went to California Caverns. We saw tons of cool rock formations that took hundreds of years to form. We got to be over 100 feet underground. The formations we saw were flowstone, stalactites, stalagmites, cave bacon, and cave straws. There was a room called The Jungle Room. The whole room was full of beautiful rock formations we saw markings or objects left from a long time ago when the cave was discovered. This was a really fun field trip.
